“Virtual Reality, Digital Twin, and Everything”

Asko Ellman is a Full Professor of Machine Design and Product Development in Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Tampere University, Finland. During his past career he has worked with Fluid Power, Simulation, and Virtual Reality. He has done a pioneering work in developing methods, models, and algorithms for of simulating fluid power systems. He has also studied control of pneumatic fluid muscle actuator and its applications. Within virtual reality studies he has focused on enabling evaluation of 3D CAD-models in various virtual environments, developing multi-sensory training simulators, and studying human experience in such applications. His present research interests are focused on Model-Based Design and Manufacturing as well as on Axiomatic Design.
